How to install FileZilla in Ubuntu?



FileZilla Client is a fast and reliable cross-platform FTP, FTPS and SFTP client with lots of useful features and an intuitive graphical user interface.

To install Follow these steps :

1. Download the FileZile software FileZilla_3.2.0_i586-linux-gnu.tar.bz2 for AMD

Or
Download filezilla_3.0.11.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb for AMD

2. Use this command to extract data.tar.gz file:
ar vx filezilla_3.0.11.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

3. Then use this command to extract bin file :
tar -xzvf data.tar.gz

4. Create a menu item to add the application to menu:

sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/filezilla.desktop

Add the following:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=FileZilla
Comment=FTP Client
Exec=/opt/FileZilla3/bin/filezilla
Icon=/opt/FileZilla3/share/pixmaps/filezilla.png
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Application;Network;
StartupNotify=true


5. Run FileZila Now :
